“Nuevo Mundo” expedition took place in early 2012 and was prepared and executed by two experts of South America continent: Jaroslaw Fischbach and Miroslaw Olszycki. Its goal was to reach the Polish communities in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. During the two-month expedition they collected rich material which will be a base for reports and articles published in the press in Poland and the Polish media abroad, as well as for photo exhibitions and videos, moreover, the second edition of Jaroslaw Fischbach’s book “Polish trail through South Americaā€¯ is based on the materials from the expedition.
During the expedition they visited many fellow-countrymen, Polish associations, consulates, embassies, Polish churches and missionaries taking pastoral care of Polish people abroad. They reached well-known Poles, as well as many less-known who achieve success in their new countries.
They met people who emigrated after the war, those associated with the army of General Wladyslaw Anders, as well as the newcomers who have stayed in South America for a few years or months. They visited places under the Polish names, like cities, settlements, mountains, waterfalls, climbing routes …
In Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile they presented photo exhibition called: “Polish charms” and Jaroslaw Fischbach promoted his book about Polish people living in the countries of South America.
