“Poland is interested in raising relations with India to a strategic level. We want to use this year to intensify dialogue and focus on deepening our relations,” said MFA Undersecretary of State Katarzyna Kacperczyk, referring to this year’s celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and India.
The Poland-India Economic Forum was inaugurated on Monday by Deputy Foreign Minister Katarzyna Kacperczyk, Deputy Economy Minister Jerzy Pietrewicz, and India’s Ambassador Monika Kapil Mohta. “Our countries have a great potential that has not been fully unlocked. It is a great challenge for our cooperation,” noted the MFA deputy chief.
On 27 January, the Polish Chamber of Commerce was hosting the one-day Poland-India Economic Forum, the first event to be organized to mark this year’s 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and India. In her opening remarks, Deputy Minister Kacperczyk underscored that relations with Asia are vital for Poland and Europe, while India is considered one of the key partners on the continent. The Forum should be a tool for fostering bilateral economic cooperation and supporting Polish entrepreneurs who are interested in investing on the India market.
The deputy chief of Poland’s diplomacy emphasized that Poland sees India not only as an important economic partner, but also as a country with which we have ever-stronger contacts in such fields as R&D, academic and cultural cooperation. “We also keep encouraging closer people-to-people contacts, which allow both societies to genuinely get to know each other and move closer,” noted Katarzyna Kacperczyk.
