On 31 October the I Polish Film Festival – BAP CINE begins in Buenos Aires. Special guest of the festival will be Leszek Dawid, director of the film, “You are God/Jesteś Bogiem “, which viewers will see during the festival screenings. The main organizer of the festival is the Foundation Pro America.
– Almost every Argentinian knows, who Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieslowski and Agnieszka Holland are, known best from films – say the founders of Pro America, Agnieszka Herbich and Robert Smith. – Always, when we talk about cinema, the same questions arise: What kind of films are made now in Poland? What to see? Our festival was created as an answer to these questions – add CINE BAP organizers.
Therefore, the main festival will feature films that represent the latest Polish cinema, such as ” In the name of …”, ” All That I Love “, ” Offsiders “, ” Suicide Room”, ” Manhunt ” and ” My Father’s Bike.”
Thanks to the Wajda School, festival partner, and the people of Buenos Aires will watch documentary films made by its graduates. The organizers are hoping for a lot of interest in the achievements of young artists who have emerged from the wings of a master. The program includes documents provided by Radka Franczak, Marty Minorowicz, Edith Wróblewska, Maciek Sterlo – Orlicki, Marcin Wrona, Bartosz Paduch. Young documentary filmmakers in Buenos Aires will be represented by Edith Wróblewska.
All screenings will be held in the cinema Gaumont from 31 October to 6 November this year.
The Festival is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the Polish Embassy in Argentina. The project is supported by the INCAA Argentine Film Institute, which provides the projection rooms Cine Gaumont.
Organizer BAP CINE – Pro America Foundation promotes knowledge of contemporary Poland through the dissemination of works by Polish film and theater directors. The Polish Film Festival in Buenos Aires is a pretext to get to the local community and the Polish community living in Argentina and Latin America. Pro America Foundation is organizing the festival from the Argentine supports Lidka Produce.
