The 25/25 multimedia exhibition – dedicated to Polish scientific achievements over the past 25 years – starts on 12 June 2015 at the gallery of the Polish Institute in Berlin. The exhibition is a result of cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The exhibition features the most interesting Polish inventions, scientific achievements and events of the past 25 years, starting with the discovery of the first planets outside the solar system, through archaeological discoveries in Egypt and achievements of Polish physicists working at CERN, ending with the first Polish satellite in orbit.

The inventions presented include Egzorobot (LUNA EMG), i.e. the world’s first robot that helps people suffering from neuromuscular disorders, particularly muscle atrophy. Its design, which can be a breakthrough in rehabilitation, is being developed by an EGZOTech team. Luna EMG is the world’s only robot that uses electrical signals coming from the human body (electromyography) to actively rehabilitate patients. The robot offers therapeutic and diagnostic programmes tailored to patients’ needs.

Moreover, guests will see how Hyperion 2 looks like. It is a Mars rover constructed by students from the Bialystok University of Technology. They are double winners of the University Rover Challenge in the U.S. Visitors will also find out what the Cyber fish is – a swimming robot constructed for deep-sea research.

The week of science features also workshops for children under the name of “We’re Constructing Robots”. The youngest will be able to play the role of engineers and design their own robots.

This year, the Polish Institute in Berlin will participate in the Long Night of Science for the second time in a row. The event starts on 13 June at 17.00 at the gallery of the Polish Institute. Guests are invited to see a demonstration of an innovative solar cell and a presentation on the future of solar energy science. The author, Olga Malinkiewicz, was awarded the first prize in Photonics21 – a prestigious scientific contest, for her work. In addition to a demonstration of molecular cuisine, a special programme for all robotics enthusiasts will be held this evening.
