The idea of combining a calendar, i.e. a tool for planning time, important from the viewpoint of business, with beauty and art – elements always present at King Jan III Museum at Wilanów – was initiated by Arkadiusz Bachan from Per Aarsleff Polska Sp. z o.o., sponsor of “Wilanów Calendars”, and Paweł Jaskanis, director of Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów.

We owe this amazing dialogue with history present in Wilanów monuments to outstanding artists involved in the project:  Tomek Sikora, a remarkable photographer, and Prof. Maciej Buszewicz, one of most renowned Polish graphic designers.

From the calendar of 2006 to the newest, for 2015, each subsequent “Wilanów Calendar” shows something that surprises the audience, depicting a different space, not visible everyday. Tomek Sikora, given 100 per cent of creative freedom, arranges the pictures so that each time we see King Jan III’s palace from a different perspective. Meanwhile, Prof. Maciej Buszewicz designs the calendars in such a way that they form a dialogue between photography and art, olden and contemporary.

The makers of this film are thankful to the management and employees of Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów for their professional help during the making of the film.
