The competition will be held for the second time in Warsaw – this time within the “Ochota” Sports and Recreation Center on Rokosowska 10 street. Competition will run from dawn to dusk during the weekend of September 7-8, 2013. If you have never met a bike polo player on your way, then come to the Championship, entry is free of course!

Hardcourt Bike Polo is a young urban sports discipline that developed at the beginning of 21st century in Seattle (USA). It came to Poland in 2009. More and more cycling enthusiasts became fans of this sport. Currently we have 80 active players in 6 cities. A match involves two teams of three players. You don’t need much to play the game – just a bike, stick, helmet, street hockey ball and a lot of patience, because the first steps are not easy!

In previous years the Polish Bike Polo Championship took place in Poznań (2010), Warsaw (2011), and Kraków (2012). This year, our capital will once again gather polo players from across the Poland. Championships will be held at the covered court of “Ochota” complex. Traditionally, on the first day of the competition there will be an after party for the guests! “The Championship is certainly the most important competition played every year in Poland, which is a great opportunity to meet  players from all around the country” – says Sabrina Staniewska, founder of the Polish Hardcourt Bike Polo Association.

For two years the best team consists of boys from the Warsaw crew Apollo 3, who seem to be undefeatable” – adds a smiling Staniewska. Is Apollo 3 going to prove itself as the best team of Polish bike polo? Come and see for yourself!
