On July 7, 2013 (Sunday) for the second time an extraordinary event will be held in Szczyrk.
Association of Polish Diaspora World Championship “Poland – Austria”, Association of Szczyrk the Brigand and the city of Szczyrk invite everyone to the 2nd RUN FOR THE HEART OF SZCZYRK THE BRIGAND.
It is a sport and recreational event which serve to charity and seeks to support the Zbigniew Religa Foundation for Cardiac Surgery Development in Zabrze, and also help the little citizen of Szczyrk, Kuba Kurowski.
The event with such purpose takes place around Vienna’s Town Hall for 12 years and enjoys continued interest. That is why last year the organizers decided that they can also help sick children in Szczyrk, while organizing a big party for absolutely EVERYONE!
The idea behind the event is to finish as many laps of the designated route as possible – a technique can be used. Everyone can participate in the event. The route may be crossed by running, bicycle, scooter, skateboard or rollers, on foot in a group of friends or Nordic walking. People with disabilities, on wheelchairs are also welcomed.
One lap of the route = a specific amount that will be spent to help sick children.
The run will be accompanied by additional attractions, i.a. music performances, stalls with handicraft of folk culture, health units and stalls of partners of the event. The organizer announced valuable prizes for the most active participants.
How can you help?
Primarily by your presence, but also by:
– informing about the 2nd Run as many people as possible
– assistance in obtaining a sponsor – perhaps there is a company whose owners work or live in your area and would be willing to devote a certain amount of money in exchange for advertising during the 2nd Run. Each sum counts and none is too small!
– buying a package of 2nd Run for 10 PLN that includes:
- a certificate of participation in the run “and I help the sick children”
- an interesting gadget of the 2nd Run
- a regenerative meal + water
- participation in a contest, in which the prizes will be randomly distributed: Hi-Tec clothing, weekend stays in Szczyrk, Łeba and Mikołajki, ski and swimming pool passes and other valuable prizes.
– donating attractive prizes that could take part in the auction
– donating any sums to volunteers or making a bank transfer on a specially prepared prints (available at reporting point)
Special Guest will be Professor Jerzy Buzek.
