“Reconstructing the country poses a huge challenge to the Iraqi authorities, who have prepared ambitious development plans, which also include the city of Bagdad. I believe that Polish companies can become important participants of this process,” said Undersecretary of State Katarzyna Kacperczyk during a meeting with a delegation of Iraq’s capital authorities headed by Naeem Aboob Msaed, Bagdad’s mayor.

The registration period for the European Rover Challenge 2014 is over – 24 teams, from all over the world, have applied to step up to the Challenge. The main event will be held September 5th to 7th, at the Regional Science-Technology Centre in Podzamcze near Chęciny.

May 2014 marks the 10th Anniversary of Poland joining the European Union. To celebrate this important date Polish Consulate in Manchester and Merseyside Polonia organised a classical concert at Liverpool St George’s Hall on the 12th of May 2014, 6.00pm. Many partners, special guests, including the High Sheriff of Merseyside Mrs Abi Pointing MBE DL and Lord Mayor Gary Millar, as well as volunteers joined Merseyside Polonia in their celebration of this great anniversary which coincides with 5th Birthday of the organisation.
At this year’s festival The Award of Emigration will be given for the first time at the Museum in Gdynia for the best movie about migration. The winner will be selected by the Jury: Andrzej Kołodyński – film critic, Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz – director, Karolina Grabowicz-Matyjas – Director of Emigration Museum in Gdynia. The Award is worth 2000€.

“Warsaw Uprising” is the world’s first feature film made entirely from documentary materials. It tells the story of the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 through the eyes of two young reporters, witnesses to insurgent fighting. It uses authentic newsreels filmed in August of 1944.
