The decision to organise the founding meeting of the “Secretariat 16 + 1” was made during the Contact Mechanism Meeting for the Investment Promotion Agencies of China – CEE Countries that is currently held in Xiamen, China.
The initiative called “Group 16 + 1”, gathering China and 16 countries from CEE including Poland as the biggest member, was established in April 2012 during the visit of the recent prime minister of China Wen Jiabao in Poland. Its aim is the increase of the inflow of Chinese investments to Central and Eastern Europe.
