Bread is one of the basic meals of humans which is listed in the oldest sources of the history and culture of Europe and Middle East . It’s been known for about 10-11 thousand years. Bread is the basic element in human diet. It also has symbolic, cultural and cultic significance. Bread was known in Ancient times , in Babylonia, Assyria, Egypt, Israel, Greece, and the Roman Empire.
The main aim of the festival is to promote bread, and its universality and diversity. Festival is planned to consist of two parts: the first is a presentation of bread bakings according to recipes derived from different parts of the world, the second is an exhibition of manufacturers of bread and baking related products. The project will be an unprecedented display of breads from around the world, allowing to learn not only the history of bread, but also all its variations occurring in different regions of the world.
The festival will be held on 21-23 March 2014 in Wladyslaw Grabski Secondary Schools, Ratuszowa 13.
During first two days:
Friday 9 am. -5 pm.
Saturday 10 am. – 6 pm.
A bakery devoted to breads from Oceania organized by Pacific Kai will be open. We offer: exhibition of culinary and touristic presentation; gustation of breads from New Zealand , Hawaii , Republic of Palau, and Australia; a book sale; flavorings for breadstuff ,and exotic food from Pacific, with an original music from Antipodes in the background.
