From the 9th of October in the UK and Northern Ireland, we’ve had the opportunity to watch dozens of Polish short films, features and animations during the Play Poland Film Festival. One of the features – ‘Kebab & Horoscope’ has already won over London audience, where the jury of Raindance Festival awarded it the Best Feature Debut. The director, Grzegorz Jaroszuk, born in 1983, graduated from Łodz Film School, which is currently the cradle for nurturing the talent of young Polish film-makers. He’s already gained impressive experience, contributing to the creation of many shorts films and features. Past editions of Play Poland Film Festival, have shown his widely recognized short film – ‘Frozen Stories’. Now it’s time to present his first feature film.

The film “Papusza” has won awards at many Film Festivals all over the world. Recently, it has been played at LET’S CEE and it is still available to watch at Play Poland Film Festival. Anna Karahan had an interview with Jowita Budnik, who played the main character, about events behind the scenes.

The 2014 edition of Play Poland Film Festival in London continues to showcase the finest in Polish cinema, art and culture. PLAY FULL, in collaboration with PAE and other partner organisations, have prepared 17 unique events to be staged across the English capital. The third LET´S CEE film festival will take place in Vienna from October 2nd until October 11th, 2014. During this time it will present around ninety excellent productions from Central and Eastern Europe as well as the Caucasus and Turkey – all of them in the respective original language with German or English subtitles, and most of them as Austrian premieres. No less than thirty-one of these films will be competing in one of the three competitions – the feature film, short film and documentary competition.
The Emigration Films Festival EMiGRA will take place in Warsaw in the Orangery by the Wilanów Palace from the 24th to 26th October 2014. This year’s EMiGRa is going to be Boundless Films Festival.
