The aim of the meeting was to discussion the global image of Poland. President Lech Walesa emphasized that this image does not look good nowadays, and there is much to be done to improve it. It has inspired the Link to Poland team to make an intensive effort which resulted in the portal launch today.
President Lech Wałęsa is definitely a national hero. He is even recognised in a tiny village in the South of Sri Lanka. He is a historical icon, and for many foreigners the word “Walesa” is often a synonym of Poland. Next year we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of awarding Lech Wałęsa with the Nobel Peace Prize. We are pleased to announce that President Lech Wałęsa agreed to take under his honorary patronage the portal Link to Poland.
