Why?

According to the report, made by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, in the Greater New York City there are over 3.6 million of people who declare to be associated with the Polish Nation.  Due to the high costs of studying in USA, the young people of Polish origin try to find alternatives.

The first Polish Education Fair was held in New York in 2012. It was initiated by the former Polish Consul for Polonia Mr. Przemysław Balcerzyk and Dr. Dorota Andraka, the President of the Polish Supplementary School Council of America.

“The Fair is organized due to the poor promotion of polish universities and Poland abroad, as well as great demographic depression which has the impact on polish education and tourist industry. Unfortunately,  year after year assimilation of Poles with the Americans progresses. The Fair should encourage young American people of Polish origin to visit Poland and sustain Polish identity. It is worth mentioning that studying in USA is very expensive and the polish universities guarantee high quality education in much lower costs. That gives new prospects to children born beyond Poland.”- says Łukasz Salwarowski, President of MANKO Association, one of the organizers of the event.

Education Fair organized at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York is one of the forms of promoting Polish universities, while possibly in obtaining answers to questions for parents who wish to send their children to study in Poland.

Every university that takes part in the Educational Fair is very well prepared in terms of content and methodology.

Visitors meet with representatives from each university and receive various kinds of materials and pamphlets in Polish and English. Therefore, we invite even those who do not speak Polish – said dr Dorota Andraka

For whom?

The Fair is directed to the young people of Polish origin who graduated from American high schools.
