The first two days of August were extraordinary for the residents of Podhale, because it was there the two stages of 70th Tour de Pologne UCI World Tour and the Tour de Pologne Amateur took place. The struggle of the leading cyclists in Bukowina was not the only attraction. Enthusiasts of two wheels have crowded beneath the Gawra center in Bukowina Tatrzańska, which is in immediate vicinity of the race track and created an impressive phrase composed of people “I love bike”.
Nearly 500 live pixels
The projects was split over two days. On August 1, 250 of the youngest cycling fans from several neighboring colonies participated in competitions and dancing parties on a property situated near the race track, and just before the peloton passed by they formed a living phrase “I love bike”. Adults have joined the project the next day – the fans who came specifically for the 70th Tour de Pologne, the inhabitants of Podhale, as well as the cyclists themselves that start in the Tour de Pologne Amateur. As a result, the phrase “I love bike” on the second day of August was formed with additional 230 people. Animations for fans were conducted by a fitness instructor Katarzyna Dusik.
Everyone, who took part in the projects received commemorative awards: T-shirt, umbrella captioned “I love bike” or a bottle of Tour de Pologne Amateur 2013. In addition, there was a special contest where the prizes were limited edition cycling t-shirts of Tour de Pologne Amateur 2013.
We wanted to do something for the fans, to appreciate their presence on the track and point out that they are also a valuable element of the Tour de Pologne. – said Małgorzata Zdzienicka-Grabasz of Bank BGŻ, initiator of the phrase forming project.

The entire project was photographed and filmed from the bird’s-eye view by using a special mini helicopter and a lift. The best photos will be posted on facebook profile of I Love Bike and the webpage of Tour de Pologne Amateur. An aerial view of the living phrase was also seen by people all around the world who watched TV broadcast of 70th phase of the Tour de Pologne UCI World Tour.
