In the last 15 years Wierszowisko has become a very important and popular event that brings Poles living in the Netherlands together. The festival is also attended by the people from organisations that cooperate with the Polish Schools Forum in the Netherlands as well as many guests from Poland. The jury always consists of representatives from the Polish Embassy in The Hague, the Polish Senate, the Polish-Dutch Cultural Society (PNKV), authors of books for children and teenagers as well as actors and musicians.
The main objective of the Wierszowisko Festival is to promote Polish poetry for children and teenagers as well as stimulate kids to learn Polish. The competition factor is an excellent motivation both for kids who act individually as well as schools presenting their short theatre performances and productions. The winner of the Wierszowisko 2015 Trophy will be selected on Sunday.
Every performance, which is to fit in the “Fifteen years of telling stories” theme, will be evaluated by the estimable jury consisting of:
Dorota Hulsenboom-Perłowska – Chairwoman
Barbara Borys-Damięcka – Polish Senator
Małgorzata Pacek – Consul from the Polish Embassy in The Hague
Łukasz Dębski – Writer, poet, cultural manager
Małgorzata Małyska – Representative of ORPEG-PCN in Lublin
Waldemar Pankiw – Representative of PNKV
