70th Tour de Pologne will take place between 27 July and 3 August. This year’s race will be unique. Two first stages will take place in Italy. The competition on the Polish routes will start and finish in Cracow. The start of the third stage will be located in the area of the Wawel stronghold. On 30 July, the peloton will ride from Cracow to Rzeszow. On 3 August, the competition will finish nearly 40 kilometres long (25 miles) individual ride from Wieliczka to Cracow.

– Jubilee edition of Tour de Pologne has a unique aspect. For the first time, the competition will start in the Italian Alps and Cracow will be present in this event twice; in our city the third stage of the race will start.  The streets of Cracow will also be a scene of the final of this race. Certainly, for sports enthusiasts and spectators the especially attractive location of the finish will be on the Main Market Square in Cracow. It looks like it will be a huge sports feast, especially that this time Bradley Wiggins, Olympic champion from London, and Giro d’Italia, this year’s winner, announced their participation in 70th Tour de Pologne’, says Jacek Majchrowski, the Mayor of Cracow.

It is worth adding that the 70th Tour de Pologne will be held under the slogan “Traces of John Paul II”. In this context, the competition of the cyclists in Cracow becomes particularly important, because the capital of Lesser Polonia is the city, which was very close to the heart of Karol Wojtyła.

– Cracow is for Tour de Pologne this, what the Elysian fields in Paris for Tour de France – says Czesław Lang, organizer of the race. – We work with the city for a few years and this cooperation is always perfect. We organize a lot of events here. Cracow is a city open to all cycling events, even though organizing the race in such a big city is a huge logistical challenge. I would like to thank the municipal authorities and Sports Infrastructure Managements of Board for their support and help in organizing the Tour de Pologne – adds Czesław Lang.

Sports Infrastructure Managements of Board is very involved in the organization of the race every year.

– ‘Thanks to participating in the organization Tour de Pologne, Sports Infrastructure Managements of Board of Cracow gains new experiences, which are really helpful to prepare and organize other sporting events – emphasises Krzysztof Kowal, Director of Sports Infrastructure Managements of Board. – The race is a big logistical challenge, but the fact that Tour de Pologne is organized in Cracow continually since 2008 proves that the Lang Team appreciates us too. We’re really satisfied by the fact that the jubilee seventieth edition of the great cycling event will finish on 3rd August, as have the previous five, in our city; this time in the city centre – on the Main Market Square. We will host the participants of Tour de Pologne a few days earlier, when they come to Poland, after two stages in Italy, in  the Trentino region. It is no coincidence that Czesław Lang said once that, Cracow is for Tour de Pologne  what Paris for Tour de France – ends Krzysztof Kowal.

Jubilee Tour de Pologne, will once again be accompanied by two events: dedicated to children Nutella Mini Tour de Pologne and a race for all fans of cycling Tour de Pologne Amatorow. On 3 August Nutella Mini Tour de Pologne will take place exactly in Cracow.
