On September 20, 2013, the 18th edition of Polish-German Cultural Festival for Kids and Teenagers “Together in Common Europe” will be held in Munich.

The final concert of the Festival “From folk to jazz” will take part on September 21 at 6.00 p.m. in Anton Fingerle – Bildungszentrum.

This year’s participants invited by the organizers are:

  • Song and Dance Group “Wielkopolanie” from Poznań – which cultivates not only musical and vocal traditions of Wielkopolska (Great Poland), but it also has in its repertoire folk dances from other 12 regions of Poland and Polish national dances. The group has presented Polish folk culture on 5 continents so far. Thanks to its loyalty to tradition, the group was named the Patron of Folk Culture in Poland. The head of the team is Pitor Kulka, and the choreographer and artistic director – Leszek Rembowski.
  • Jędrek Indebski – from the Dance School “Dance Cente” in Poznań, the winner of IDO World Championship 2011 – Graz, Austria.
  • Piotr Pawlak – from the Dance School “Dance Center” in Poznań; he participated in the International Dance Organization’s National Championship in the category of Hip-Hop up to seven years. In the finals, the judges chose him and thus made him the representative of Poland in this year’s Europe and World Championships.
  • Łukasz Ludwiczak – from the Dance School “Dance Center” in Poznań, who in 2012 won the first place in the “New Generation” project – the National Tournament “Transs Formations”, and in 2013 qualified for the final of the Eurovision for Young Dancers. Łukasz also took part in a video clip with Tony Tzar from Los Angeles which was recorded in Warsaw.
  • Kinga Skiba – student of third class of Elementary School and the School of Music in Tarnowskie Góry. Kinga has participated in many festivals for children and teenagers, and many occasional concerts. Her biggest success is the participation in the program of TVN “Mam Talent” (“Poland’s Got Talent”) where she reached the finals at a very high position and won great sympathy of the viewers.
  • “Taneczny kleks” team from Siemianowice Śląskie – a contemporary dance group, which uses elements of classical ballet and jazz in its work. The team won the first place three times in the International Festival of Culture for Youth in Kielce and in 2011 they won the Grand Prix of this prestigious Festival. In 2012, the team also won the Grand Prix in the International Festival of Song and Dance “Orpheus in Italy” in Lido di Jesolo, Italy.
  • Marcin Jankowski from Włodawa – 15 year-old boy, the winner of many prizes and awards in various competitions and festivals. In 2013 he won the first prize in the 5th edition of Provincial Contest of German Song “GYMLIE” Lublin 2013. For his artistic achievements he was awarded a scholarship from the Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship.
  • Aleksandra Orłowska – the finalist of Enchanted Song Festival organized by Anna Dymna. The great achievement of the young singer was also winning the first place and the Grand Prix in Song Festivals “Kuźnia 2011” and “Kuźnia 2013” and taking the first place in the International Festival of Christmas Carols in Będzin.
  • Song Studio “Beciaki” from Suwałki – the vocal trio including: Karolina Słabińska , Karolina Kamińska and Natalia Straszyńska.
  • Olivia Szpetkowska – this year’s graduate of Theresia-Gerhardinger Gymnasium in Munich. In 2011, together with the ”Polonia” team from Munich she performed at a concert in Berlin on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the German-Polish Treaty. In 2013 she organized a charity concert for orphans from “Waisenhaus” centre in Munich.
  • Bernadeta Fryszacka – living in Bavaria, who as a soloist of the “Polonia” team performed at a prestigious concert organized as part of Tollwood Munich in 2013.
  • Joanna Stefańska – student of high school and Music School of II grade in Kielce, winner of the first place in prestigious International Scout Festival Kielce 2013.

The special guests of the Festival are: Olga Kalicka – actress of Roma Theatre, known from a popular TV series “Rodzinka pl” and Kasper Zborowski-Waychman – actor, vocalist and TV presenter.

 

The organizer of the Festival is German-Polish Folk Association Poonia-Munich. The artistic director and organizer of the festival is Dr Elżbieta Zawadzka.

 

 

Cultural Festival for Kids and Teenagers “Together in Common Europe” is held every autumn in Munich. Invitation to participate in the festival is a kind of award for the youth groups and soloists who have special artistic achievements. Festival concerts should not be treated as a contest.
