Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz has been named the recipient of the 2014 Gilmore Artist Award, it was announced today by Daniel R. Gustin, Director of the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. One of the most prestigious honors in music, the Gilmore Artist Award is presented every four years on a non-competitive basis to an exceptional pianist who, regardless of age or nationality, has the potential to sustain a career as a major international concert artist.

Although the unfavourable weather did not encourage venturing outdoors, the citizens of Żyrardów once again did not disappoint expectations, coming to “Resursa” Gallery. And the occasion was special. At Saturday’s evening, 7 th December 2013, was the vernissage of one of the most eminent creators of Polish book and press illustrations – Professor Janusz Stanny.
