Infantile love follows the principle: “I love because I am loved.”
Mature love follows the principle: “I am loved because I love.”
Immature love says: “I love you because I need you.”

/Erich Fromm “About The Art of Love”/
This year the La Metamorphose show took place in a beautiful room of the 19th-century Hôtel Le Marois – France Amériques in the centre of Paris. There were 26 outfits presented on the catwalk. The “Rouge Amour” collection is full of emotions and desires and the eponymous red interweaves with the black and gold colour of clothes, adding joy, extraordinary energy, grace and sensuality to the collection, while maintaining elegance and subtlety characteristic for the brand.
– Our collections are always very closely linked to our emotions. This time our inspiration is one of the greatest feelings – love! It can change the world, influence others and make us grow. It gives us strength to overcome all difficulties of our everyday life. Love makes us truly believe and appreciate both another person as well as ourselves. It is a journey towards happiness and a motivation to fulfil one’s desires and dreams. It is an indispensable element to achieve harmony with oneself and the surrounding world.
– said Ewa Gawkowska after the show – Each of us has his or her own image of love and the surrounding world learnt at home. In a sense, this image characterises us, our personality and the way we see others and our close ones. This is a process that evolves all our life – she added.
Perfectly matched silk fabrics: flowing chiffons, taffetas, organza and tulles as well as French and Spanish laces complemented by necklaces and scarves fully reflected the designers’ message while the models moved. The whole collection was completed by classic-shape high heels in black, nude and champagne gold prepared by the Virino Beleco brand specially for this show.
There were evening gowns, cocktail dresses and a silk pantsuit with chiffon trains presented on the catwalk. Some outfits were decorated with hand-sewn applications such as lace flowers ad chiffon red roses, which are the leitmotif of the whole collection. They could be found in the first model’s hat, ruffles and elements of the dress, among others. The “Rouge Amour” collection is also characterised by spatial elements of the cut similar to architectural forms inspired by the rosette above the main entrance to the Notre Dame cathedral as well as belts with the motif of a butterfly that symbolises metamorphosis, transformation and blooming.
– Parental love full of concern, openness and acceptance but also demanding, educating and directing towards important values is different. Brotherly or sisterly love that makes us accept siblings as they are in their individuality, uniqueness and exceptionality is different. Love based on respect and desire for another person to grow for his or her own good in the way that is right for them while being full of attention and feeling of responsibility is different – Małgorzata Szczęsna explained the designers’ idea – Love is also a passionate feeling for another person, willingness to know one’s partner on different levels, always discover common interests and passions as well as accept mutual hopes and desires.
“Rouge Amour” is the second collection presented by the La Metamorphose brand at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week at the invitation of Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode this year.
