The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland prepared a publication “Atlas of Polish presence abroad”. With the use of maps, short texts, and overall analysis, it presents the presence of our emigration in the world.

May 2014 marks the 10th Anniversary of Poland joining the European Union. To celebrate this important date Polish Consulate in Manchester and Merseyside Polonia organised a classical concert at Liverpool St George’s Hall on the 12th of May 2014, 6.00pm. Many partners, special guests, including the High Sheriff of Merseyside Mrs Abi Pointing MBE DL and Lord Mayor Gary Millar, as well as volunteers joined Merseyside Polonia in their celebration of this great anniversary which coincides with 5th Birthday of the organisation.

Over fifty representatives of the Polish diaspora from the Western Balkans – Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Macedonia – have come together in Belgrade for celebrations of the World Day of the Polish Diaspora.

Macerata – the city of treasures and wonders- this is how the city is called by local citizens. It is also a city of musicians, craftsmen and all of the other professions which have an influence on development of this lovely place on Italian land.

First and foremost, Medan is the biggest city in Sumatra but it also is definitely the most interesting one, which is located on the northern coast of the, much larger than Poland, tropical island.

„Polonik” established it’s official activity in March 2013. Since before this, in 2012, from the initiative of Association’s members, actions were already organized with the purpose to create a bond between compatriots living in North-Eastern Italy, keeping permanent relationships with Poland as well as those who promote Poland. Since September 2012 from the initiative of the Association there operates the School and Kindergarten “Polish ABC” for children and teenagers.

We often do not realize how many Poles live in Brazil. According to the statistics, there are 1.2 million people with Polish blood in their veins in this faraway land. Different circumstances led them to this great country in South America. In the 19th century and in the beginning of the 20th century it was earning emigration, they were mainly landless peasants who emigrated from southern and eastern polish lands, from Galicia and Małopolska. After the World War II a wave of political migration started. At that time soldiers who fought in the army of General Andres and also participants of the Warsaw Uprising settled in Brazil. Among the last of them was Janusz Wścieklica. I was lucky to meet him in 2003 during my visit to Brazil.
