Krzysztof Grzondziel from Mysłowice is the winner of this year’s edition of the All-Poland Satirical Contest “Manufaktura Satyry” organised by the City of Żyrardów. This year the subject was “Technology and invention.” As it was in the previous years, the subject referred to the city’s industrial past. The post-contest exhibition and award ceremony will be organised on the second Saturday in September in Żyrardów.

The main idea behind the “United States of Beta – Poles Jazz the World” record is openness to the world. It includes unique compositions, which take us into the world of musical diversity – ethno, jazz and chillout. It’s a distinctive mixture of influences and moods from the most distant places – from Scandinavia to Africa, from India to New York.
Małgorzata Hutek – a jazz vocalist and a song writer, who is recognised in the music world for her creativity and enthusiasm to overcome stylistic barriers. She is telling us about her involvement in the United States of Beta – Poles Jazz the World project.
“What does the idea of solidarity mean to me today?”- this question will be answered by amateur filmmakers from around the world, who will take part in Solidarity Shorts, a film contest. Short films can be entered until 31 July 2014.

Wislawa Szymborska, William Shakespeare and Gabriel García Márquez become the patrons of 11th Literary Festival “Isola delle Storie” (“The Island Tales”), which starts on 3 July 2014 in Sardinia. The Polish Institute in Rome is a partner of the event.
For the first time, the Israeli audience will be able to listen live to concerts as part of the Krakow Jewish Culture Festival, between 27 and 29 June. The event is a joint project by the festival’s organisers, the Polish Institute in Israel and Tel Aviv’s Teder club.
